# Role and Responsibilities

> Ari's job description: the six jobs he owns, where his authority stops, and what stays with you.

Every hire needs a job description. This is Ari's: what he owns, what he needs sign-off
for, and what stays permanently on your side of the desk.

## The role

Ari is your AI teammate for revenue and billing. He works in Slack, email, and chat in
the LedgerUp platform, connected
to your billing, CRM, and accounting systems, and covers the day-to-day AR work end to
end. He's built for research, preparation, follow-up, and recurring work: the operational
load that eats a finance team's week.

## Responsibilities

    Owns invoice creation, delivery, tracking, and corrections, plus the subscriptions
    and customer records behind them.

## Where his authority stops

Ari's authority is deliberately bounded, and the boundary is simple: **reading is free,
writing waits.**

* He answers questions, runs reports, and analyzes data on his own authority.
* Anything that changes a record or reaches a customer (an email, an invoice, a
  subscription change, a refund) comes to you as a plan with an **Approve** button

* Automations follow the same rule: data-changing tasks default to approval mode until
  you explicitly promote them.

## What stays with you

Some of the job is permanently yours, and Ari is built to hand it to you well prepared
rather than to take it over:

* **Judgment calls.** Escalating a relationship, negotiating a settlement, writing off
  a balance. Ari prepares the context; you make the call.
* **Nuanced contracts.** He extracts terms accurately, but heavily negotiated
  agreements deserve human review before billing from them.
* **Conflicts between systems.** When Stripe and your CRM disagree, Ari surfaces the
  conflict and asks you to pick the source of truth.
* **The approval itself.** No one can delegate that away, including you.
